Township of Marple Delaware County, Pennsylvania Director of Finance Marple Township (pop. 24,214) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Director of Finance within the Finance Department. Reporting directly to the Township Manager, the finance director manages a team of four (4) fulltime employees as well as provides guidance to the Township Manager and elected Board with regards to financial matters. Responsible for all aspects of financial accounting and reporting both internally and externally (State & Federal) as well as all daily operations in the finance department. Candidate should have a working knowledge of local government DB and DC pension plans, trusts, L/T debt management, general fund, enterprise funds, and special revenue fund operations. The ideal applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 10 years of municipal accounting experience is desirable. An active certified public accountant license is also a plus. We seek an individual who is personable, detailed oriented, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and can productively work well in a busy public environment.
