Job Description Summary

Your primary responsibility will be to be involved with all aspects of the corporate tax function, including managing the consolidated reporting of the Companys domestic and international tax accounting. You will assist the Director of Global Tax Accounting and U.S. Taxes in supporting the tax accounting function of the Company by ensuring continued compliance with US GAAP and US tax law. As an integral member of the U.S. Tax group, you will also assist in identifying opportunities that will maximize earnings and cash flow by minimizing the Companys effective tax rate and cash tax burden.

Your primary responsibility will be to be involved with all aspects of the corporate tax function, including managing the consolidated reporting of the Companys domestic and international tax accounting. You will assist the Director of Global Tax Accounting and U.S. Taxes in supporting the tax accounting function of the Company by ensuring continued compliance with US GAAP and US tax law. As an integral member of the U.S. Tax group, you will also assist in identifying opportunities that will maximize earnings and cash flow by minimizing the Companys effective tax rate and cash tax burden.

The successful candidate will:

  • Review/prepare quarterly/annual consolidated income tax provisions prepared under US GAAP;
  • Determine and document uncertain tax positions and significant tax attributes of the Company;
  • Develop and maintain internal controls for the accounting for income taxes;
  • Implement tax provision process improvements to be used in the U.S. and global process;
  • Manage consolidation of tax matters for financial reporting purposes, setting/establishing global policies/procedures;
  • Provide advice, direction and support to resolve technical tax/accounting issues;
  • Translate technical tax matters into non-technical terms for presentation to senior management;
  • Develop and manage cash tax and ETR models and provide input on forecasting and budgeting activities;
  • Develop a strong relationship and work closely with the global controllership team and global tax team;
  • Maintain an excellent professional relationship with the external auditors while effectively managing and responding to the audit;
  • Apply tax laws and regulations to support tax return positions, audit defense, tax planning, etc.;
  • Identify, develop and implement US tax planning opportunities and lower ETR;
  • Communicate and develop relationship with business unit finance personnel as well as outside consultants and financial statement auditors;
  • Be able to challenge the status quo and recommend and build processes and implement improvements;
  • Effectively lead and mentor team.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant tax accounting and comprehensive US GAAP experience;
  • BS/BA in accounting or finance;
  • Strong knowledge of OneSource Provision software or aptitude to be trained;
  • Knowledge of U.S. corporation taxation in a global structure
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The following are also preferred:

  • CPA
  • MBA, MST or JD;
  • Big 4 experience
