The role

SoFi is seeking a Bank Liquidity Risk Manager who will be responsible for measuring, managing, and optimizing the firm's liquidity exposures while ensuring that firmwide and Bank liquidity risks are appropriately mitigated, when possible. Working closely with the business units, finance, and capital markets teams, this member of SoFi's Treasury team will own the modeling of the firm's sources and uses of cash and liquid assets. The Liquidity Risk Manager will also enhance the firm's liquidity stress testing framework, contingency planning & governance, incorporating regulatory and internal requirements, limits, and assumptions. This role requires someone who will be able to drive projects to completion by working collaboratively with various teams and divisions of the firm who are often located in other offices, to help establish a robust liquidity strategy and liquidity stress testing framework. 

What you'll do:

  • Daily monitoring of the firm's daily sources and uses of liquidity

  • Model liquidity risks associated with the firm's business activities

  • Model and run liquidity stress tests over various time horizons and assumption scenarios

  • Development of firm and bank governance inclusive of contingency planning 

  • Make daily cash sizing decisions based on expected funding, operational, and capital markets activities

  • Apply ALM and balance sheet optimization best practices to enhance the firm's liquidity strategy

  • Utilize the firm's balance sheet to optimize ROE, net interest margin, etc.

  • Monitor daily liquidity positions and report key metrics to senior management

  • Partner with engineering, data, and other technical resources of the firm to automate modeling and reporting requirements

  • Develop, coach and lead your team to meet their fullest potential 

  • Be a culture carrier and create an engaging environment for your team and others

  • Understand company priorities and support department strategy to accomplish goals 

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years of work experience in liquidity risk/strategy, treasury, funding, deposit pricing & modeling, capital markets, or risk management disciplines at a bank, asset manager, or other financial services institution

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, accounting, or related field; CFA, MBA, or FRM a plus

  • Experience modeling cash flows and liquidity risks preferred

  • Knowledge of LCR, CCAR, or enhanced prudential standards of the Dodd-Frank Act a plus 

  • Exposure to rates/credit / fixed income markets, securitized assets and/or warehouse funding activities

  • Computer skills, including advanced Excel, Word, and Powerpoint required

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
